How big is a meal?
Our mission is to provide a healthy, well-balanced, portion-controlled meal. We want our customers to be satisfied with the portion size, without being overstuffed. Meals average between 575 and 725 calories.
Will my meal be fully cooked when I buy it?
Yes! All meals are fully cooked. All you have to do is heat & eat (or store in the fridge!)
Do you deliver door to door?
We do not currently offer doorstep delivery. We deliver our meals to local businesses within the Capital District.
Our goal is to minimize our carbon footprint impact as best we can.
Can I freeze my meals?
You certainly can. But keep in mind that there are no additional preservatives added to Mindful Meals, so they won’t last forever in there. 1-2 weeks in the freezer is a good rule of thumb. However, not every menu item we offer is freezer friendly. Uncooked produce such as greens or tomatoes will be less-than-great after being frozen.
How long do I reheat my meals?
All meals should be reheated to an internal temperature of 165˚ F. Times will vary as all microwaves and ovens are different. Simply heat your meals until they're hot!
How do I reheat my meals?
DO NOT HEAT THE PLASTIC CONTAINERS IN A TRADITIONAL OVEN.
Reheating your meal properly will have a huge impact on the finished product. You can reheat in the container that the meals are packaged in.
Our containers are BPA free and microwave safe. You can also transfer your meals to a plate and reheat in the microwave, or transfer your meal to an ovenproof container and reheat in a traditional oven.
To reheat, slow and low is the way to go. If going the microwave mode, we have found that reheating in 2 minute intervals at HALF POWER slowly brings the meal up to the proper temperature without over-cooking and drying out. Simply repeat this process until your meal is hot, which usually takes about 5 minutes, give or take. When you take out your meal, let it sit for a minute or two so that the heat gets evenly distributed. Now dig in!
Can I reuse the container my meals came in?
Yes, you can reuse them!
Please consider the environment when disposing of your to go containers. Simply rinse & recycle.
